Self guided and guided rides to be taken while at the rally (we are working on this)

Loretto Chappel   Just a short 2.5 miles from the hotel. It is thru town though, but it shouldn't take too long with traffic.
Los Alamos   A scenic loop which goes thru Los Alamos and some pretty riding . Includes about 40 miles of freeway to start out. Then off to some scenic riding thru the Jemez Indian Reservation and mountains. In Los Alamos you can visit the Bradbury Science Museum. Total distance about 150 miles.
Rio Grande Gorge 1   This ride goes over some scenic roads including the bridge over the Rio Grande Gorge. You also go thru Taos on the way back. Total distance about 200 miles.
Rio Grande Gorge2   This ride is a little longer than the above ride, but includes some high altitude passes and scenic outlooks as well as.the bridge over the Rio Grande Gorge. You also go thru Taos on the way back. Total distance about 240 miles.
Enchanted Loop   This ride takes you along some scenic roads, past the Westfall Viet Nam Memorial and around the 'Enchanted Loop. Red River is a nice little town with good places to eat. You also go thru Taos. Total distance about 220 miles.
Cimarron Canyon   This ride takes you along some scenic roads, past the Westfall Viet Nam Memorial and thru the Cimarron Canyon State Park. The last 130 miles though is along I-25. Total distance about 295 miles.
Pecos National Park   This ride takes you to the Pecos National Historic Park as described in the 'Sites' page. You also go over some of the pre-1937 Route 66. Total distance about 70 miles.
Madrid   This ride takes you to Madrid, the pre-rally event. If you don't go to that, it is still an interesting ride to the site of some of the filming of 'Wild Hogs'. The return trip re-traces the route. Total distance about 65 miles.
Sandia Crest   This ride takes you thru Madrid on the way to Sandia Crest for a beautiful view of the Albuquerque basin. Also a nice ride up the mountain.. The return trip includes about 35 miles of I-25. Total distance about 140 miles.
Sandia Tram   If you don't want to ride up to Sandia Crest you can take the tram from the base. This ride also goes past Madrid, the site of some of the filming of 'Wild Hogs'. The return trip includes about 35 miles of I-25. Total distance about 140 miles.
Sipapu   This ride takes you past some old Mexican towns and senic roads. Also to Sipapu, a ski area. There you can enjoy a nice meal and watch hummingbirds. The road past there is an excellent motorcycle road. The return trip includes about 60 miles of I-25. Total distance about 180 miles.
GPS Routing   I have placed here the file used by Garmin MapSource. This is the program on the PC used to generate routes which may be downloaded to the Zumo. If you have a Zumo or any Garmin GPS that uses MapSource you should be able to use this file. It has all the routes as well as waypoints for the Lodge and the campground as well as several other points. To download this file, right click on the link to the left and select 'Save Target As' and then select where on your computer to save it. Then open it using MapSource.
