The first thing I went to was the Kawasaki area to see the VV1700. They had 3 one of each color. I sat on the red one first, but like the silver better.

The red is pretty also   A nice side view

A view from the back. A lot of controls at the fingertips.   The control panel. Redline on the tach was 6 grand. I like the look.

Left and right leg protection. There are vents here as you will see. There is a lever above the vents for opening.

Right side vent closed and opened. It should let lots of air in. It also has several stops to allow between fully closed to fully opened.

The trunk opens to the side as was requested. Lots of room here. No light or mirror.   The bag lid is hinged as was also requested. Not as big as the XII, but still lots of room.

The right side bag   View from the front. The fork sliders are protected, so seals should last longer.

The decal shows Vulcan Voyager, so get used to it!!   Another view.

Another person sitting. Probably 5' 10" or so   A couple sitting. I asked her and she said she had enough room.
I was impressed with it. If I didn't have the C14 I would probably get one, but it will have to wait a couple years now. Just hope the silver will be available. One rather large person said he was cramped. I said he would probably have to get a custom seat and he said he usually has to anyhow. A back rest would be a definite requirement. The trunk is solid (no adjustment), but as the lady on back said above she had enough room. The mufflers will have to come off to change the rear tire. Not as much as with the XII though. They have a joint in the middle of the muffler where with the XII it had to come off up to the header pipe. Bias ply tires. I can't remember if I looked over the windshield, but it was pretty close. The plastic for trunk and bags is not as thick as on the XII probably to save weight. The bags are not easily removable. Four bolts must be removed from the inside, but no big deal. No lights on the bags. Looks like the heat will come right off the radiator onto the riders legs, so the vents in the leg shields are necessary. This should be a definite help in cooler weather though. It does sit low to the ground with not much room for changing oil. The drain plug and filter are easy to get to. Will definitely need some kind of stand to set it on to do maintenance, one which will lift up at the frame points. The seat felt comfortable, but can't tell just sitting at the show. It would take a good ride to determine its comfort. No keys were available to look in the glove box compartments but the bags and trunk were unlocked to open.
